- this includes full military details, plus
where born, enlisted and living, and if
there was previous service in another unit.

personalised to the soldier, from Army Roll
of Honour.

List
of men from the same unit
who died the same date - learn the names of
the comrades who died with him.

 |
Search
of the 'Official History' of WW2
to see if there is any information on the
battle in which he died. Some smaller
actions are not mention and the amount of
information varies from a line to several
pages.

Copy
of the official unit War Diary
for the day he died; this gives details of
where they were and what was happening. This
material is contained in the National
Archives in London.

Search
of Paul Reed's personal library and
archive for
further information relating to the action
in which the soldier died - typically this
will be a search for any unit or divisional
histories, memoirs mentioning the unit or
battle, plus a check to see if we hold any
original photographs of the unit he served
in. Copies of any material found are
provided.
