British Divisions in Normandy

This section of the site contains details of all the British & Commonwealth Divisions that fought in Normandy between June and August 1944. 

Views of British Army battle performance in North-West Europe varied greatly in the post-war studies, but more recent historical research has seen a reassessment of the British Army in Normandy and some of the book links right are at the forefront of this. I would direct the interested reader to these and many others to get a more balanced view of the important role of British and Commonwealth troops in the Normandy campaign and their overall contribution to the final victory. 

This section will expand slowly over the course of the next few months. Eventually I aim to downloads available for every divisions with a neater section to print out.
