This
was a specialist Armoured Division
formed in England in 1943 to provide
specialist armoured engineer support
in the forthcoming Invaison. They
were often known as 'The Funnies'
because of the many strange and
unique vehicles they used. Units
landed on D Day and fought through
the campaign. The
Divisional Commander was Major
General Sir P.C.S. Hobart.
